I’m really interested in joining the EPIC willow team. I have an upcoming interview for an EPIC Willow Analyst healthcare system that I’ve worked with for about 5 years now. Looking to get some tips and tricks and things that you suggest are good things to point out.
Or would you be able to share some insight about positives and negatives of your position. It seems like from what I’ve seen from a clinical hospital pharmacist position is that I don’t really take my work home with me, when my shift is over I am handing it off to the next person coming in.
I anticipate as an EPIC Willow analyst this will no longer be the case and I am the person fixing the issue and it will be there until I fix it. I know the team does some Billing with HCPCS codes or something, they do builds for new drugs coming in and out, adjusting order sets, and they do a lot of meetings with other healthcare professionals to help implement changes into the system. Of course there is several committees that meet and have to come to an agreement before the Willow analysts can make those changes.
Honestly, any insight would be GREATLY appreciated from what you do on a daily basis, to negatives and positives of your job. Any recommendations for things you suggest I get involved in as I gauge more interest into this specialty of pharmacy.
In the end I truly enjoy doing builds and finding problems and fixing it. In addition anything IT or tech related I enjoy overall as my hobbies all revolve around technological things in the end to building my own circuit boards, PC, drones, cameras, and etc.
Hi Thomas,
I could talk for hours about the differences between my life as a clinical pharmacist compared to now as an Epic Willow pharmacist. Please feel free to book time on my calendar here to schedule time for 1:1 chat.
