Hello,
I am currently an EMR specialist for a platform “myEvolv”. Although I applied for as an Epic analyst. However, the hospital would like to test me “my ability learn to build with Epic tools”.
Any tips? Thank you.
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for asking a question..
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the “myEvolv” platform so I am not sure how much overlap there possibly is between it and Epic.
Epic has a standard test they give to assess a candidate’s aptitude for the software and its called the Sphinx Test. I explained it in this blog post here. Honestly, there is no way to prepare for that test, I think you either think a certain way or you don’t. As mentioned in that article, many people struggle with the Sphinx Test and somehow, no matter how badly each person thinks they did on it, some get a “passing grade” and others don’t.
My best advice for preparing for that test, as odd as it may sound, is “don’t prepare for it”. Just respond as naturally as you can to the questions and let the chips fall where they may.
I hope that is somewhat helpful to you.
